There is a reason why the Ralph Lauren Christmas aesthetic has taken over our social feed this festive season. Mr Lauren’s expertly honed mix of tradition and fun is both familiar and fabulous; it tugs at heartstrings and leaves room for spontaneity – perfect for this time of the year when holiday rituals are honoured, and also, reimagined.
Now, fans of the look can immerse themselves in the Ralph Lauren Christmas without having to do any of the hard work it requires: Until 24th December, the brand has transformed Sloane Square into the The Ralph Lauren Holiday Experience, a seasonal pop-up with an array of fun, festive workshops to get you into the spirit of Christmas.
Complete with snow-dusted pine trees, twinkling lights and even an outpost of Ralph’s Coffee (mulled wine, hot chocolate and S’mores cookies are on the menu), the square feels like an alpine destination out of a holiday movie. If you’d like to brush up on your craft skills, the barn is the perfect place: the florist in residence will lead workshops including wreath and garland making. At the Cookie Atelier, children and adults can indulge in artisan cookie decorating. And certainly, Father Christmas and his elf are at hand to sprinkle magic dust.
Housed in a charming wooden shed, the gift shop promises a selection of timeless designs, ranging from instantly recognisable Polo Bear collectibles to the classic staples. The real star of the pop-up is the Ralph Lauren Giving Tree: visitors can create and personalise an ornament dedicated to a loved one to hang on it.
To mark the Chelsea Christmas Lights Switch-On celebration on 15th November, the Capital Children’s Choir and the London Youth Choir gathered at the festive pop-up for the debut performance of A Little Time. Exploring themes of togetherness and resilience, the original song – commissioned by Ralph Lauren, and written and composed by Gareth Malone OBE – is inspired by the patients and staff of The Royal Marsden.
Indeed, there is more to this festive experience than indulging the Ralph Lauren Christmas trend: All proceeds from the streaming and downloads of A Little Time, along with ten percent of all proceeds from activities at this Sloane Square pop-up, will benefit The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, an organisation supported by Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony initiative.
